Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
You would be providing a high level of support to Bakkavor whilst gaining fault-finding experience and ensuring the efficient and effective running of the factories. Working in engineering requires a enthusiastic individual with a team player mentality and strong planning abilities.
For this opportunity you will need to have a positive approach and be willing to ‘have a go’. Depending on the site, role and responsibilities, you will be required to work normal office hours or shifts. As you will be working with machinery, you will need good communication skills and be able to adapt well. Combining learning with work-based experience, you will be able to establish yourself within our engineering teams.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
A great part of our programme is that all of our Engineers from all of our sites, get to learn together at one of the UK's leading Engineering colleges. We do this using a six week block release and residential model. This is three six week blocks every academic year. Accommodation, food and travel is paid for by the company. Everyone gets individual secure accommodation and safeguarding measures are in place.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Best of all, upon successfully completing this four year apprenticeship you will be guaranteed a full-time role with Bakkavor.
