Job Description

This is an opportunity to design and develop state of the art software, firmware or electronics with our small client-focussed engineering teams. You will scope, plan and deliver work to agreed timescales for customer problems.

Responsibilities

You will design and develop state of the art software, firmware or electronics with our small client-focussed engineering teams. You will scope, plan and deliver work to agreed timescales for customer problems.

This Degree Apprenticeship opportunity is an integrated programme, delivering learning that supports a strong sense of progression, continuity and collaboration. You will be provided with structured training and development on domain specific and general engineering skills, delivered by BAE Systems’ subject matter experts.

There may be the opportunity to continue working for the company following completion of the apprenticeship.

Reality Check

You will be studying at the University of Essex and you will need to attend full-time during term time.

Out of term time, you will be working with BAE Systems in Great Baddow.

Skills Required

We are looking for ambitious people, who are highly motivated and excited by learning and problem solving.

They will have studied STEM subjects at college/sixth form level, with a particular interest in electronics technology.

Qualities Required

Suitable candidates will enjoy collaborating and working within diverse teams.

They will have the ability and desire to learn quickly and sometimes work to challenging deadlines.

Qualifications Required

  • A minimum of 120 UCAS points, gained from a maximum of 3 A-Level qualifications or equivalent e.g. BTEC (excludes AS level)
  • 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) at Grade A*-C/Level 4-9 including Mathematics, English and Science

BEng Electronic Engineering.

  • 3-year BSc (Hons) in Embedded Electronic Systems Design and Development Engineer Degree Apprenticeship
