Machinery and equipment develop electrical faults, so electrical maintenance is an essential part of the operation. The role of an Electrical engineer is to keep equipment running smoothly through maintenance, repairs and upgrades.

Responsibilities

This is to apply for a HETA apprenticeship. You will be employed or sponsored by one of the client companies we work with from day one and your training/assessment will be handled by HETA (Humberside Engineering Association).

Possible duties include:

  • Installing & maintaining electrical equipment
  • Electrical theory
  • Instrumentation & control practical
  • Testing & commissioning electrical systems

Future Prospects

The qualifications and experience gained on this Apprenticeship will allow you to apply for further roles within this sector.

HETA offer two-year Higher National Certificate (HNC) and one-year Higher National Diploma (HND) qualifications. HNCs/HNDs are a great route to moving onto higher-level qualifications; you can do extra studies at a later date to 'top up' a HNC/HND into a full degree.
