The successful candidate will be installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems. Duties will include:
- Working indoors and outdoors and sometimes working at height
- Develop good working relationships with people
- Reading building and engineering drawings as well as wiring and circuit diagrams
- Select (within limits) materials and equipment
- Writing reports
- Inspecting and testing electrical installations and diagnosing and rectifying faults on a range of circuits and equipment
- Keeping tools and work area clean and tidy
- Making sure that Health and Safety is at the forefront of everything you do
- Terminating armoured and non-armoured cables
- Applying resin to cable joints
- Assist with statutory testing
- Installing cut outs
- Dealing with domestic electrics
- Working within lofts and under floorboards
- Chasing walls
- Sweeping and cleaning up after the completion of jobs
- Light fixing
- Shadowing Professional electricians
- Inspecting equipment to make sure it is safe to use
- Undertaking any other duties and responsibilities as required.
- Dealing with domestic, commercial and industrial electrics where required
- Wiring of smoke detectors
- Working at heights (ladders)
The advertised Apprentice wage will increase yearly or upon completion of progressive stages. After initially qualifying, you could go on to supervisory roles, senior management positions or even running your own business.
