Job Description

Become part of our highly skilled electrical team installing and testing electrical equipment on new water and wastewater treatment construction projects. Every day, across our region, our Mechanical and Electrical teams install electrical equipment and cabling into our newly built works and assets.


What will the apprentice be doing?

• Shadowing experienced electricians installing plant and equipment.
• Preparation and installation of wiring systems.
• Installation of all types of cable containment.
• Glanding and terminating all types of cabling.
• Assisting with installation and mechanical plant and equipment.
• Testing and commissioning
• Fault finding.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The training will take place at Bridgwater and Taunton College, visiting college 1 day a week.

• Installation Electrician Apprenticeship.
• Advanced Diploma in Electrical Installation.
• Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2).

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Become a fully qualified Electrical Installation Technician on completion of the apprenticeship.
