Maintenance and Engineering Technician Apprenticeship programme. The first year will teach you engineering and theoretical knowledge. In years 2 to 4 of the programme you will work on site with the employer, but continue to study one day/week at college.


What will the apprentice be doing?

Working alongside the Engineering and Maintenance Teams, based at Immingham, you will shadow  these teams in the day to day engineering tasks, such as maintenance on cranes, lock gates, motors, lighting, switchrooms.  Maintenance teams will sometimes travel to other local ports to support resources.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

First year will be based at College, 5 days/week.

Years 2, 3, 4 will be based at the port you have been interviewed for and consist of 4 days, with one day release at college, to complete the apprenticeship.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Level 3 MOET Apprenticeship Certificate on completion.
