Job Description

Maurice Rodwell Ltd offers a professional electrical service for the domestic and commercial sectors. For the right person, there is the opportunity to secure full time employment and progress to higher level qualifications.


Duties will include:

  • Undertake any tasks within the domestic, commercial and industrial areas of the electrical contractors trade as required, either under the guidance of a qualified electrician or on your own depending upon your skills
  • You will help to install, maintain and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial and domestic environments and might work in both indoor and outdoor settings
  • Electrical equipment and systems may include switchboards, motors, cables, fuses, thermal relays, fault current protection switches, heating, lighting, air conditioning and metering equipment as well as crime and fire alarm systems and renewable energy technologies
  • Electrical safety is an important area of Electricians’ work. On completion of their work the electrical systems must be safe to use. They must adhere to safe working practices without endangering themselves or others
  • Installation Electricians work on the installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of low voltage (less than 1000v) electrical and electronic devices and appliances

Future Prospects

  • On successful completion of this apprenticeship the successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress as an electrician within the company

Reality Check

  • The successful candidate must be able to get to Forest Row every morning, with travel onwards to the workplace

Skills Required

  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Problem solving
  • Industry experience preferred but not essential

Qualifications Required

  • To apply for this apprenticeship you must have (or be predicted) a 4/C or above in English and maths GCSE
