Job Description

Doddle Learn is focused on delivering high-quality education resources that cover the UK and international curricula and are a good fit for current teaching and learning practices. They are now looking for an Editorial Apprentice to join their team! This is an ideal first job in publishing an opportunity to learn editorial, design and production.

Responsibilities

As an Editorial Apprentice, you can expect to gain substantial experience in the development of resources for their online platform, Doddle. Please note that this role is heavily focused on supporting the Editors and Commissioning content. You will also be required to proofread, draw simple digital diagrams for resources, test content, upload and work with in-house designers.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Providing editorial support to the team
  • Being responsible for the testing and upload of new content to the platform
  • Tracking and logging photo library image usage
  • Tracking, logging and clearing permissions for text extracts
  • Issuing agreements and managing the freelance database
  • Proofreading an array of educational materials for spelling, grammar and mathematical errors
  • Drawing simple digital diagrams for resources
  • Working independently on a project whilst also communicating efficiently with other team members
  • Briefing in-house designers and developers

Qualifications Required

You’ll need to pass a face to face screening interview with our Talent Team (don’t worry, we’re a friendly bunch) and sit initial assessments in maths and English.
