Job Description

Moxley Tots are looking for an Apprentice Early Years Practitioner to join their team. You will work towards a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard.

Responsibilities

To be part of a nursery team that provides a purposeful, stimulating environment rich in learning opportunities, both indoors and outdoors.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Effective practice
  • Relationships with children
  • Communicating and working in partnership with families and carers
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Own professional development
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • To promote, at all times, high standards of care and education of children in accordance with statutory requirements
  • To understand the principles and content of the Early Years Foundation Stage and know how to put them in to practice
  • To practice and promote current legal requirements, national policies and guidance on health and safety, safeguarding and the well-being of children
  • To meet the physical needs of children, encouraging good standards of personal hygiene, whilst promoting independence
  • To be part of our Early Years Team that provides a purposeful, stimulating environment rich in learning opportunities
  • To support the nursery’s commitment on safeguarding children
  • To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments

Future Prospects

Progression through the nursery is a strong possibility upon completion of the apprenticeship, alongside demonstrating the learner is reliable and a hard worker.

Reality Check

Can start without DBS but under supervision trial for 1 session 08:45 - 12:00 planned activity.

Training Provided

Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Moxley Tots will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

If successful, you will complete a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship programme, delivered through Moxley Tots dedicated training provider, Realise.
