Job Description

The purpose of this role is to lead and deliver on the paid search, display and affiliate marketing strategy, taking responsibility for driving growth in these channels and owning initiatives that deliver key commercial objectives.


Main responsibilities:

A typical day in this role includes:

  • Closely managing the performance and output of our agencies to deliver channel strategy and growth
  • Working with the agency to land new activity and ensuring The Perfume Shop are continuously striving to test and learn to maximise performance
  • Building strong working relationships internally to ensure omnichannel alignment
  • Completing weekly and monthly reports on channel performance and sharing any insights with relevant teams
  • Negotiating with affiliate publishers to secure advertising space and affiliate promotions and ensure publishers are performing in-line with expectations, continuously challenging to make sure we get the most out of any spend
  • Supporting the Digital Marketing Manager with the annual budget, ensuring spend is phased in line with online trading targets to deliver targeted revenue budgets
  • Supporting the agencies on troubleshooting tracking issues or any updates or additions to pixels (alongside the Analytics Specialists)
  • Gathering internal data our agencies might require and sharing relevant internal insights with them
  • Supporting the Digital Marketing Manager with the overall digital marketing strategy, and understanding how this fits within the eCommerce strategy
  • Working closely with the Digital Marketing Executive to ensure that the agencies receive assets in a timely manner, and they align with campaigns, brand guidelines and audiences

Future Prospects

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.

To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.

Skills Required

  • Previous demonstrable experience of managing sizeable campaigns gained from a leading agency or as an inhouse paid media specialist managing an agency in a B2C business (Desirable)
  • Ability to motivate, manage and challenge teams and external agencies
  • Demonstrate organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with multiple departments and stakeholders

Qualifications Required

Entry requirements:

A Level 3 qualification in a relevant area in any grade. Acceptable qualifications include:

  • A-levels in one or more similar subject
  • Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject;
  • International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in a similar subject;
  • BTEC Extended Diploma in a similar subject;
  • A Work experience route (2-3 years) in a similar subject-related role

Note: “Similar subject” relates to areas directly relevant to or commensurate with “Digital and Technology Solutions”

As to what constitutes a ‘similar subject’ this would therefore typically be areas such as but not limited to Level 3 digital apprenticeships, A-Level/BTEC Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Software Engineering, etc.

Note: Learners must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Training Provided

Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Digital Marketing.

You will be working alongside experts with decades of experience in the industry as an IT apprentice. Whilst you study towards your Digital & Technology Solutions Professional, you will be working in a full-time role supporting our IT team of experts.

This is a 4 years programme, which will allow you to gain a degree in Digital and Technology Solution Professional and at the same time apply your learning in the workplace.
