Responsibilities
Your role will be to assist the sales and technical teams by producing crane lift plans using dedicated CAD software. This will be a mixture of 2D and 3D drawings as well as creating 3D animation videos as the role evolves.
We are seeking individuals with a passion for pursuing a role within the CAD team of a market-leading company. You will have a desire to develop a career learning new technical drawing skills and aid the evolution of our existing team. As this is an apprenticeship, previous experience is not necessary as you will learn on the job following the apprenticeship syllabus alongside the guidance of our expert CAD team. You must be open-minded with a dedication to learning new skills and gaining knowledge through first-hand experience.
At Ainscough Crane Hire, the role of a Digital Engineering Apprentice involves:
- Production of crane lift plans
- Dealing with Technical queries
- Liaise with clients & sales/technical staff in producing CAD drawings
- Create and revise production drawings
- Keeping abreast of related latest technology
- Utilise knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics to complete drawings
- Responsible for setting up and maintaining and organised file system for production drawings
- General CAD administration duties
- To ensure accuracy with organisation standards
- Continually seek to improve the way in which the role operates within the business to achieve its objectives
- Undertake other duties that management may reasonably request

Rate of pay:
- Year 1: £5.79
- Year 2: £6.56
- Year 3: £8.36

Qualifications Required
- GCSE’s/Standard Grades grade C/4 or above including core subjects (English, maths & ICT)
Training Provided
Digital Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:
- The apprentice will receive 2-3 week intense “work ready” BIM training. NVQ on site Assessment every 8 weeks, and BTEC (Block on site delivery) for 2 weeks bimonthly
- Expected Duration - two to three years with approx. 80 days classroom based learning (2 weeks upfront in year 1)
