Job Description

Kenny Wax Family Entertainment is renowned for bringing some of the best of children’s theatre to the West End and on tour in the UK and internationally. You will work towards a Level 3 Junior Content Producer apprenticeship standard.

Responsibilities

Produced and general managed shows include: What the Ladybird Heard, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, Around the World in 80 Days, The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child, Room on the Broom, Oi Frog & Friends! (Olivier Award nominated), Mr Popper’s Penguins, the stage adaptations of Jacqueline Wilson’s Hetty Feather (Olivier Award nominated) and Jill Murphy’s the Worst Witch (Olivier Award winner for ‘Best Family Show’).

This autumn will see the world premiere of Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World, a co-production with Mayflower MAST Studio.

Job description:

The apprentice will be looking after the all the socials. They’re soon going through a rebrand, integrating Kenny Wax family entertainment with Kenny Wax Ltd and representing all their shows on there. Their shows tour internationally and are performed on the West End. The apprentice will manage and create content for their family shows and will be involved in lots of new and exciting projects in 2022. You will be working closely with the marketing and production team.

As a Digital Content/Social Media Apprentice, your responsibilities would include:

  • Brainstorming new and creative ideas
  • Innovating and presenting new digital/offline strategies
  • Implementing and supporting marketing strategies including social media, print, email, blog, SEO and more
  • Driving traffic to company pages
  • Uploading content to their website
  • Developing engaging online content including videos, graphics, and blogs
  • Measuring and reporting performance of digital marketing campaigns/content and assess against goals, using relevant sites such as Google Analytics
  • Keeping abreast of new social media sites, technologies, and digital marketing trends; implementing these new technologies in developing campaigns
  • Identifying trends and insights, and optimising content, techniques, spend and performance based on the insights
  • Attending events and rehearsal rooms to film interviews and get content that could be on an occasional weekend/evening (time in lieu)

Please note: For the first year, you will be paid £10k. Thereafter, your pay will be increased to the National Living Wage (currently £8.91 per hour). All salaries are set at the employers’ discretion; however, this will be the minimum you will receive.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) in maths and English.

Training Provided

Level 3 Junior Content Producer apprenticeship standard.

The Juice Academy is a digital marketing Academy based in Castlefield, Manchester. They train 80 apprentices a year whilst the apprentices work with businesses and they have recently launched the remote course, so all training is delivered via Zoom.

There will be two face-to-face sessions in Manchester during the course, travel costs will be covered by the employer. The training is delivered by industry professionals from their sister company, Tangerine Communications. As well as attending sessions for training on a bi-weekly basis for one year, apprentices will also receive the on the job training in the workplace.

The final three months of the course will be the ‘assessment period’ during which apprentices are expected to produce a portfolio of work and complete a series of assessments. Full digital marketing training to be provided on-the-job and off-the-job. The Juice Academy partner with Apprentify, who support apprentices in the workplace through development coaching.
