Job Description

We are seeking to employ and train an Apprentice in the process of High-Pressure Vacuum Die Casting. You will be highly trained to work in the world of large tonnage Die Casting manufacturing; the initial training will be broad based casting and production based leading to a first appointment.


Your role will be varied and will include areas such as:

  • Attend Die Casting L3 Apprenticeship at Dudley College
  • Complete and pass all 21 mandatory units
  • Complete and pass 1 optional unit
  • Complete Level 1-3 Die Casting Machine Operator training on site at CCUK
  • Ensure all mandatory CCUK training units are completed on time (HSE)
  • Guarantee a safe working environment
  • Ensure all production processes conform to current quality standards
  • Manufacture parts in time to satisfy customer demand
  • Strive to improve production processes
  • Be part of team to root cause analysis of non-conforming production and implement corrective actions
  • Quality check of parts produced
  • Record hourly performance and Key characteristics of parts produced 
  • Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant and adhere to all Health and Safety environmental requirements

Qualifications Required

5 GCSEs or equivalent grade A-C/8-4 or above in maths, English and Science.

Training Provided

Metal Casting, Foundry and Patternmaking Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • Full Job Training will be provided in the workplace
  • For College Course - Apprentice will be required to go to the National Foundry Training Centre at the Dudley College of Technology located in Tipton, for scheduled block training, on average 4 consecutive days every 4 - 5 weeks. It is understood that there will be ten blocks in the first year and nine blocks each year thereafter
  • Please note that due to the global pandemic, initially these blocks may be replaced by distance learning
