Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
Leyland has sole responsibility for the engineering design and development of the DAF LF product. You will gain CAD skills and an insight into design areas including chassis, powertrain, cabs and electrical system. With the option to specialise in electrical design you will gain more in-depth skills & knowledge in areas including electronics, CAN/networking, embedded software/diagnostics, electrical wiring/circuits, systems engineering, requirements definition/capture and management.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The apprenticeship will last 5 years and includes you achieving an applicable B/Eng Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Electrical)
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
You will acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to undertake the role of an design engineer upon completion of this scheme
