What will the apprentice be doing?
The practice occupies the entire ground floor of the new building and has a large reception area, 3 modern fully equipped air conditioned surgeries, a staff room, a decontamination room and a disabled access patient toilet. In response to the Covid19 coronavirus outbreak we have recently installed a bespoke ventilation system providing fresh air to the surgeries and changing the air in the surgeries up to 12 times per hour for the safety of our patients and staff.The practice is air-conditioned, fully computerised with digital radiographs and runs the latest clinical software. There is ample restriction-free parking is the local area. Each surgery is spacious, bright and equipped with its own computers and X-ray units. The practice offers all aspects of general dentistry and offers anti wrinkle and cosmetic treatment too. We pride ourselves on having a close team and members of staff are very friendly, supportive and fun to work with.
During the Dental Nurse Apprenticeship you will be...
- Assisting the dentist in providing safe and effective treatments to patients, from simple check-ups to advanced specialist treatments
- Proving patients with a high level of care
- Setting up and cleaning surgery
- Sterilising instruments
- Updating patient records
- Maintaining equipment
- Preparing instruments and materials for various treatments
- Adhering to practice policies and procedures
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 Dental Nurse apprenticeship standard, which includes: Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required) End-Point Assessment (EPA) On the job training

If you are using public transport to get to this employer, please ensure you have researched the route and that a regular service is available. It is a requirement to have a course of Hepatitis B vaccines and a clear, enhanced DBS. Please also note that you will be required to undertake FIT mask testing to become a Dental Nurse.Skills Required
