Hoddesdon Dental Surgery is a 4 surgery mixed NHS/private practice established for more than 60 years. The practice was modernised about 10 years ago. All surgeries are air-conditioned, and we have ample car parking spaces for staff and patients.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will primarily have on the job training as a dental nurse but will also be trained for reception duties. The key responsibilities will be in assisting the dentist as well as the entire team. Being able to work as part of a team is essential.  Candidates must be fluent in English. The team comprises of 4 part-time dentists, 2 hygienists, 4 trained dental nurses/receptionists and 1 trainee nurse. 

As an Apprentice Dental Nurse you will be assisting with all clinical aspects within the surgery and providing patients with a high level of care so you need to be unflappable under pressure and able to put people at ease. You will receive ongoing support, development and training to equip you with the skills and knowledge required for a successful dental nursing career.

Your daily activities could include:

  • Sterilising instruments
  • Updating patient records
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Preparing instruments and materials for various treatments
  • Being responsible for infection control in the dental surgery

During your Apprenticeship you’ll develop the skills required to support patients and dental staff in providing safe and effective treatment from simple check-ups to advanced specialist treatments.

Possibility to become a full time employee on completion of apprenticeship.

Qualifications Required
