Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

As a Cyber Security Apprentice, you will: 

  • Help us protect our customers' data and preserve the security and integrity of their operations
  • Monitor and investigate cyber threats
  • Identify new and sophisticated methods of detection and prevention across our customers’ IT estates
  • Learn how to perform initial diagnosis of incidents identified and then take actions to resolve them swiftly
  • Ensure effective reporting on all areas of cyber security threat management

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprenticeship will blend on the job experience, face to face workshops and online learning, leading to the following qualifications:

  • Cyber Security Technologist Level 4
  • BCS Level 4 Certificate in Cyber Security Introduction
  • BCS Level 4 Certificate in Network and Digital CommunicationsTheory
  • BCS Level 4 Certificate in Security Case Development and Design Good Practice
  • BCS Level 4 Certificate in Security Technology Building Blocks
  • BCS Level 4 Certificate in Employment of Cryptography

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

We offer apprentices a permanent contract from day one. 

We hire apprentices at post GSCE / A-Level – but if you do well on your apprenticeship and want to carry on learning, the business will support you to transfer onto the next level of apprenticeship – up to Level 6 – a degree level apprenticeship. So you can get your degree, whilst working, and no student debt!
