Job Description

This is a multi-skilled role for the successful candidate who will undertake a wide range of administration duties as well as face to face and telephone interactions with patients and visitors, in our busy office and when required in the reception area.

The role:
This is a multi-skilled role for the successful candidate who will undertake a wide range of administration duties as well as face to face and telephone interactions with patients and visitors, in our busy administration office and when required in the reception area. 

Duties Will Include:

  • Booking patients for appointments
  • Liaising with clinicians to answer patient queries
  • Using EMIS to record all patient interactions
  • Processing daily tasks generated by at the practice
  • Scanning / emailing FIT (sick) notes to patients
  • Requesting images from patients to assist clinicians with their decision-making
  • Contacting patients to book them into specific clinics (Flu clinic/ Baby clinic, etc.)

The Person:

  • Keen to learn

Skills Required:

  • GCSE’s grades 4 or above / A*-C in maths and English (or equivalent)

The successful candidate will study a Level 2 qualification in Customer Service. This will be aided by an Assessor who will carry out all assessments as work based learning, within the workplace.

Hours and Wage:
37 hours per week. Monday - Friday
£4.50 per hour
£166.50 per week

Progression Opportunities:
Potential to progress to permanent position within the business, and possibility to progress to next level of apprenticeship.

The Business:
A Barnsley based medical practice providing health care for the local community. The practice provides a high level of care to approximately 9000 patients.
