We're looking for an outgoing apprentice to join Anglo American's team. Throughout your role you will provide an effective and efficient daily buying service to Anglo American’s Corporate Offices. Anglo American is trialling an internal approach to centralise Purchase Requisition creation into a centre-led team.


Duties to include:

  • To be the single point of contact for all buying requests for specific departments
  • To raise Purchase Requisitions within SAP (our main software) in line with policies and procedures 
  • To receive and process invoices for payment in line with policies and procedures 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system queries regarding the R2P (Requisition to Pay) process and SAP from the above mentioned specific departments
  • Build constructive relationships with the corporate end-users
  • Build constructive relationships with the Accounts Payable team to assist with any invoicing queries
  • Perform required administration and reporting activities on time and to the high-quality standards
  • Use judgement to quickly pursue outstanding orders to ensure on-time, in-full delivery or report to the Corporate Purchasing Adviser
  • Operates independently and in conjunction with a globally-dispersed team

Future Prospects

After your Business Administration apprenticeship progress into HR, Recruitment, Sales, Marketing & PR, Real Estate, Personal Assistant, Office Management, Business Management. Most of the above can be completed in a higher-level qualification.

Qualifications Required

  • Three A-Levels at grades A*-C (or 240 UCAS points or new tariff equivalent)
  • Good knowledge of IT packages e.g. Microsoft Office, Google Docs/Sheets etc.
  • Five GCSE grades C – A* (or 4-9), including Maths and English
  • Level 3 qualification (BTEC, NVQ or equivalent)

Training Provided

  • Training on the 18-month Standard Level 3 Business Administrator (BA3) apprenticeship
  • Functional skills if required
