Responsibilities
The employer is looking for an advanced apprentice to work in a CNC machining environment as a grinder starting as soon as possible.
The role will include duties such as:
- Tool regrinding
- Tool production
- Working from drawings
- Design support
- Producing of programmes and inspection
This is exciting opportunity, which will enable the apprentice to learn a real craft in a growing and exciting company. The apprentice will shadow a skilled worker and be involved in day-to-day activities using CNC grinding machines.

Qualities Required
- Good timekeeping, the ability to take on board information in a variety of formats and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and team leaders
- Have a proven interest in the working environment and want an apprenticeship
Qualifications Required
- The candidate must have at least 5 GCSEs, or equivalent, at grade C/4 or above including maths & English Language
- To process an application further the ideal candidate MUST have a level 2 qualification in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Diploma (AME) and be able to start with the employer as soon as possible
Training Provided
Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:
- The advanced apprenticeship is typically a 3 year programme. The technical certificate aspect of the programme is delivered at college
- The apprenticeship also includes Employment Rights and Responsibilities as well as Personal Learning and Thinking Skills qualifications
- The successful candidate will work towards a NVQ level 3 qualification and level 2 functional skills, should they be required
