Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
As a civil engineering apprentice in our Local Government team based in Lincoln, your work will be varied. You could be involved in supporting Engineers to undertake investigations and site inspections. You will be preparing technical design solutions, documents and drawings using specialist software and you will be supported in thinking up innovative solutions to engineering problems.
Where possible, you will be able to visit site to see your team's designs come to life.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will attend Lincoln College to study a Civil Engineering apprenticeship and gain a BTEC, as well as your EngTech status with the Institution of Civil Engineers. You will also be enrolled onto a bespoke internal development programme to support you to attain the knowledge, skills and behaviour that will help you successfully achieve your apprenticeship.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
As this is a permanent position - after gaining your BTEC, WSP will continue to be committed to your learning and development throughout your career with us. You will have the opportunity to go on to study a degree in Civil Engineering and gain IEng status, working towards gaining Chartered status, as well as the chance to study towards a Masters degree.
