What will the apprentice be doing?
You'll be assisting other engineers within the team in the delivery of projects ranging from small highway improvement schemes, to multi-million-pound infrastructure projects. You'll be involved with the production of feasibility studies for new schemes, technical design of new highway structures using advanced structural modelling software, preparing and tendering construction contracts including drawings, specifications and contract documents, and construction site supervision.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Following completion of this apprenticeship, you will attain a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. The off the job training will be delivered by the University of Warwick, based nearby in Coventry, who offer world class facilities and tuition. As the employer, we also provide a comprehensive training package of on the job training in addition to further training courses, supported by our accredited Institution of Civil Engineers training programme.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On completion of the Degree and our professional training scheme by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), you'll be sponsored to apply for the internationally recognised Incorporated Engineer qualification with the ICE, cementing your credentials as a professional trained and qualified civil engineer.
Reality CheckThis role will include some outdoor work, predominantly on construction sites, at all times of the year. PPE will be provided.
