Job Description

Do you like to work outdoors? Do you have a driver's license? This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to begin their career as a Civil Engineer. You will be part of a project team working for a world leader in construction. You will receive mentorship from senior engineer, whilst also working towards your degree in Civil Engineering


What will the apprentice be doing?

Civil Engineers Apprentices provide support to Civil Engineers who design, build and manage construction projects with our design teams. Some of the activities could be


  • Assist in the control of sites to ensure work is conducted safely, effectively and to the correct quality and standards.
  • Understand and integrate design information to ensure it is fit for purpose
  • Assist and contribute to planning and setting up of work sites.
  • Assist in the monitoring and control of contract works and understand how to implement corrective action when required.
  • Assist in preparation of material requirements, prepare orders, monitor supply and maintain records.
  • The first project allocation for this role will be at Project Controls Team, who assist the project with planning and control of scheduled activities.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Academic: BEng Civil Engineering

Professional Membership: Incorporate Level Institute Civil Engineering (IEng ICE)

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Entry to our Engineering Development Scheme for progression to Site Engineer.

Reality Check

Fully Mobile Across England Driver’s license preferable You must adhere to all safety regulations and PPE requirements. Sometimes you may be required to work outside of the regular working hours and be prepared to get up in the morning as we start early.
