National Trust Heelis, the Head Office building for the National Trust are looking for an Apprentice Hospitality Assistant to join their dedicated team. Paying national minimum wage for age from £4.62-£8.91 per hour

National Trust - Hellis in Swindon have a fantastic opportunity for a Chef Apprentice to join their team, working in the kitchen alongside our Head Chef, you will learn all the required skills to successfully work in a kitchen.

As an Apprentice you will be included on a Level 2 Production Chef Apprenticeship Standard delivered by Babcock Training. This will involve a Regional Trainer visiting you on a regular basis to deliver the training, support your learning and development and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

Heelis is the Head Office building for the National Trust so quite often it is a busy environment with lots of important meetings going on. You will get to know people from Directors, to IT, to Facilities. There is lots of variety here because it is an office building, we provide bespoke catering a lot so never really know what each day will bring. We work hard to ensure we provide a high level of food and service but we also like to make it a fun environment to work in.

Duties will include an full training given:

  • Food preparation and presentation
  • Setting up the kitchen in the morning and preparing all that is required for that days breakfast and lunch service
  • Baking will also form part of the role, National Trust pride themselves on their cakes and bakes
  • Cleaning is a big part of being in the kitchen along with allergens management and following the Food Safety guidelines

Future Prospects

This is position is the at least the duration of the apprenticeship (15 Months) with the possibility of a permanent position offered to a hard working committed apprentice.Opportunity could lead to a permanent role. Also the required skills to work in any kitchen

Qualifications Required

GCSE grade A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent) including maths and English preferred but not essential as functional skills will be delivered alongside the apprenticeship if required.
