37.0 hours per week Average 37 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis including some weekends, no evenings. General working hours either 7am-4pm or 10.30am-6.30pm. (TBC), You will also be supported to attend college as required and receive workplace training.

Learning every aspect of how a professional kitchen works.

Duties will include:

  • Preparing and cooking meals
  • Creating and designing menus
  • Food service
  • Ordering supplies to managing budgets and health and safety and hygiene
  • Creating special dishes for the specific needs of individual residents

Record keeping, patience, a sense of humour and a passion for teamwork are all required skills. And…you must love working with all manner of people in sometimes challenging emotional situations… Our residents’ day to day lives and wellbeing, and happiness, partly rest on YOU! It can be hard and sometimes demanding work, but you can change someone’s life - every single day you work!

There is potential for permanent employment on successful completion of your apprenticeship.

Qualifications Required

NONE but basic standard of maths and English ideally GCSE 4/C or above but there is a possibility to study towards equivalent qualifications as part of your apprenticeship.

Training Provided

Commis Chef level 2 apprenticeship.
