Learning every aspect of how a professional kitchen works.
Duties will include:
- Preparing and cooking meals
- Creating and designing menus
- Food service
- Ordering supplies to managing budgets and health and safety and hygiene
- Creating special dishes for the specific needs of individual residents
Record keeping, patience, a sense of humour and a passion for teamwork are all required skills. And…you must love working with all manner of people in sometimes challenging emotional situations… Our residents’ day to day lives and wellbeing, and happiness, partly rest on YOU! It can be hard and sometimes demanding work, but you can change someone’s life - every single day you work!
There is potential for permanent employment on successful completion of your apprenticeship.
Internal promotion and progression very possible, excellent career prospects in health & social care - and in this company which is growing and has plans for further development.
Some weekend working expected.
Please consider how you will get to work each day, the home is located on a main road and within walk-able distance from Leek bus station.

NONE but basic standard of maths and English ideally GCSE 4/C or above but there is a possibility to study towards equivalent qualifications as part of your apprenticeship.
Commis Chef level 2 apprenticeship.
