Job Description

Opportunity for an individual to start their career in childcare and early years education. For the right person, there is the opportunity to secure full time employment and progress to higher level qualifications.

Responsibilities

Your roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Working in partnership with and supporting other Centre Nurses/ Play workers, Manager and Deputy to ensure the smooth daily running of the centre
  • Working as part of a team to ensure the care and learning of all children with regards especially to their physical, personal, emotional and social and communication and language needs alongside all other developmental areas needs
  • Adhering to the Policies & Procedures of CornerstoneAcademy and compliance with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation and within the guidelines of Ofsted and the National Standards. Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the centre
  • Providing feedback to the Manager or Deputy / Quality Assurance Officer on issues relating to the centre, children and parents
  • Sharing in the key-holder responsibility of opening and locking up of the centre
  • Preparation, care, cleaning and maintenance of the playrooms and equipment
  • Positive management of children's behaviour
  • Keeping of development records and observations, profile
  • Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, and cultural or linguistic background; in particular, challenging situations where racism or discrimination is displayed
  • Planning and implementation of activities, to meet children's individual needs, laising with parents and negotiating working targets ensuring effective communication within the centre
  • Leading staff meetings, promoting and supporting teamwork and attendance of staff meetings as arranged
  • Providing a good role model for junior colleagues and students and helping new staff to fit into the centre
  • Keeping and monitoring accident, incident and risk assessment records
  • Supervision of meals and mealtimes and, where appropriate, preparation of babies' bottles and Laundry duties
  • Working with the Manager to maintain administrative records as directed by the Regional Manager and Head Office and external agencies
  • Participating in regular parents' evenings, publicity, open weekends and children's outings.
  • Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Centre Manager and Regional Manager

Skills Required

Qualities Required

Qualifications Required

  • GCSE's grade 4 (C) in English and maths are required
