Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
- Carrying out a range of tasks including measuring, marking out, fitting, cutting, splicing, finishing, positioning and securing.
- Working with large/heavy materials and cutting them to certain specific shapes to design plans
- You will learn how to make stud wall fixings, stairwells and fitted furniture
- You will work with a variety of tools and equipment within this role including saws, power tools, hammers and shaping equipment.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
One day a week in College, four days a week with the employer.
It will be a Level 2 in Carpentry & Joinery.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Potential employment with further training.
