Job Description

Do you enjoy being organised and building relationships with others? Do you want to learn a range of office skills including administration, procurement and purchasing? If so, look no further than the Business Support Apprentice role at Safran.

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

The Business Support Apprentice will be responsible for the following duties:

General:

  • Learn how to control stock levels of central stationery and raising of purchase orders, this will include both Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and online portals ensuring Procure 2 Payment (P2P) is efficient
  • Learn how to book travel (general), sourcing and booking travel arrangements (both day and overnight) through approved travel agency and concur. (Taxi, car hire, flights, hotels – both national and international)

Learn functions within the Purchasing & Procurement Team, including:

  • Raising of indirect purchase orders / purchase requisitions to support operational teams (consumables, equipment, stationery etc)
  • General purchasing and procurement activities (Request for Quote (RFQ), Supplier Monitoring, Life Cycle of Purchase Order, Incoterms, SAP master data)
  • Supplier relationship engagement and purchase orders, including expediting of purchase requirements and communication as required to internal stakeholders.
  • Material management, forecasting, provisioning and procurement
  • Support existing team with reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), cost saving initiatives, cost of purchasing/production analysis
  • Interact with ERP systems to identify requirements and act accordingly to ensure timely purchase orders are placed and delivery requirements are met (including invoice queries and resolution)

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard:

You will complete a 15 month apprenticeship which includes 10 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

On successful completion of the apprenticeship a full time position may be available together with further training opportunities.
