Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
- To work under supervision to learn office/administration skills including diary management, filing, photocopying, ICT programmes/systems and answering queries.
- Respond to correspondence and complete data entry.
- Respond to employee requests for information in person, on the phone, and in writing.
- Under guidance you will manage your own project and develop solutions to implement in the workplace.
- Constructively take part in meetings, supervision and other events designed to improve communication and assist with your own development.
- Undertake other duties compatible with your learning and development as required.
- Use our computer system and learn to carry out duties in the most efficient and effective manner, this would include keeping our social media posts up to date along with the company website. We also run an employer/customer portal where documents will need to be uploaded and kept up to date.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- The apprentice will be working towards the Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship standard.
- All delivered within the work place via online training and at Colchester Institute Campus.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Our current office staff will be looking to retire over the coming years and we are looking to the future for the right individual to become the office manager and run all that's required on a day to day basis.
- We will offer the opportunity to the right candidate to work within the book keeping side of the business as well as the office manager role and will offer further training as required.
Reality Check
We are a small friendly business and work closely as a team, we have a large team working out on site. You would be working within the smaller office team, but you would regularly interact with the site via phone, email and in person. Your work would involve long periods time on a computer. The office has good public transport links as there is a bus service to the end of the road.Skills Required
