Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Apprentice to provide administrative support to our busy and friendly Estates Department. The Estates Department provides essential services for its students and staff, and our Apprentice will play a key role in the smooth day-to-day operation of the following areas.


What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Administration support to the Estates Department and the departments within its control 
  • Assisting with the set up and management of the Estates web page
  • Use MS Office applications and bespoke databases
  • Collection and organisation of data 
  • Monitoring email inboxes, respond to messages and handle general enquiries in person and over the phone
  • Any additional duties within the scope and purpose of the role.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The training will be delivered on site at the University of Buckingham and will be set over the 15-month training period at regular intervals.  There will be monthly training sessions with a tutor and on-going weekly training with their workplace mentors and Virtual Learning Environment lessons (e-portfolio) to complete

The qualification gained is the Business Administrator Level 3 standard

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There is the potential for career progression following the qualification.  For example, PA, Medical or Legal Secretary, Office Manager, Practice Manager
