Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
Working with the Logistics and Transport team, you will undertake a range of administrative duties and be responsible for delivering responsive services to STFC customers, via phone, in person and by email:
- Manage taxi bookings and allocations to in-house driver team and taxi suppliers.
- Secure quotes for non-standard taxi journeys.
- Obtain quotes for mini bus/coach bookings.
- Recording complaints and services issues to enable effective contract management.
- Day to day managing the Transport inbox & phone.
- Providing administrative support directly to the Logistics & Transport Manager.
- Recording and collating of financial recharge information for Transport & Logistics Services.
- Supporting the Administration Coordinator with preparing invoices & recharge journals.
- Provide project related support and assistance.
- Adhere to all departmental procedures and Standard Operating Processes.
- Champion the Logistics & Transport Service.
- Contribute to identifying improvements to operations, systems and process.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
This is a Fixed Term, 2 year employment contract (the apprenticeship training and assessment will take 18 months).
Standard: Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship.
Delivery model:
• Work-based training with your employer.
• 10 days college attendance to complete the Business Professionals course - 1 day per week, at either Abingdon or Witney campus.
• Approximately 12 on-site assessment visits per year.
• L2 Functional Skills in Maths and English (7 days at college for each, if required).
Qualifications included:
• L2 Functional Skills in English and Maths.
End Point Assessment:
• Knowledge test.
• Portfolio based interview.
• Project/improvement presentation.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
For the right candidate, upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be the opportunity to progress onto further apprenticeship study or into full-time employment with the STFC.
