Business Administration Apprentice
Responsibilities
The Planning Support Team work hard to validate all incoming planning applications across both Wychavon and Malvern Hills District Councils. Following both national and local guidelines, each planning application is thoroughly checked to ensure that the applicant has submitted all of the appropriate and relevant information, in order for the application to be handed over to a Planning Officer to proceed with. As the Apprentice within the Planning Support Team, your main duties will include;
- Supporting the planning functions of both Wychavon District Council and Malvern Hills District Council
- Communicating with internal colleagues and external customers via email, telephone, written correspondence and face to face contact
- Providing excellent customer care and responding to all queries in a professional, timely manner
- Processing planning related submissions and supporting the validation process, in accordance with National and Local Guidelines
- Preparing documents for the Planning Committee and Appeals
- Monitoring the generic inbox and responding/re-directing emails appropriately
- Managing the incoming post accordingly
- Supporting the team with various administrative tasks as and when required, such as, scanning, printing, etc
Future Prospects
Possible progression onto Level 3 qualification in Business Administration
Reality Check
The successful candidate will be required to cover both the Pershore and Malvern office, so a driving licence and access to a car is essential.

Qualifications Required
GCSE 9-4/A-C English and Maths or equivalent grades/qualifications
Training Provided
- Full training up to Level 2 in Business Administration
- Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT if necessary
