What will the apprentice be doing?
You will provide key admin support to the teams and deal with queries from our internal and external customers, both over email and telephone. We want to recruit highly motivated Apprentices who are keen to learn
Dealing with customer queries
Investigating missing payments, matching payments to invoices
Monitoring payments and invoices
Distributing daily invoice runs
Setting up direct debits
Using Oracle finance system
Updating customer details and Excel spreadsheets
Using data image processing system
Handling emails and inputting others into data image processing system
Sorting and mailing post
Issuing template Word documents
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 Business Admin standard, delivered by Adult Learning Service. This is delivered by online learning, assessments. You will have an assessor working with you
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Achieving the level 3 standard along with practical work experience in administration supports the apprentice to apply for jobs with Derby City Council. Many of our apprentices have progressed to other roles with the council since their apprenticeship
Reality CheckAt this time, the role will include some homeworking. Although we do not guarantee employment after this training, many of our apprentices have successfully gained employment with City Council. We aim to support as many apprentices as possible into roles after this training.
