Job Description

Howard and Co Solicitors have an excellent opportunity for a new team member to become involved in general office duties across both Barnsley centre office sites whilst working towards a Business admin Level 3 qualification.


Duties will include:

  • Operate the postal system for both incoming and outgoing post, in accordance with procedures
  • DX – incoming, to be collected on your way to work, stamped, and distributed
  • DX – outgoing, to be collected from Regent Street and Victoria Road and taken to DX point before 4.45pm daily
  • Internal folders to be taken/picked up between offices twice daily (mid-morning and mid-afternoon)
  • Part-time reception duties in the absence of Karen Sykes
  • To ensure the confidentiality of all documentation/information belonging to the client or the practice
  • General offices duties e.g. faxing, photocopying, any other administrative
  • Duties required, across both Barnsley centre office sites
  • Opening files in accordance with procedure (all departments), including production of initial letters where appropriate
  • Closing and archiving files in accordance with procedure (all departments
  • Time recording for fee earners on database, as required
  • Deal with routine enquiries from internal departments/assist team members with their dutie
  • Any other duties commensurate with the position, as appropriate
  • Maintain a consistent and professional approach to attendance, punctuality and personal appearance
  • To familiarise yourself with the -Common Terms of Employment” folde
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace
