What will the apprentice be doing?
Working in our fitting team to fit boats as per boat job sheet. Helping to order stock needed for the month to ensure all parts are available to fit boats. The role involves using hand tools such as drills and screwdrivers and someone who likes working with their hands would enjoy this position. Full training will be given and it is not essential to have a knowledge of sailing, what is important is an enthusiasm to learn, a pleasant personality and a can-do attitude and a willingness to ensure that standards are maintained and a pride in the work you have completed to ensure our customers are happy with their new boat.What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship standard Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required) This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release. The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The position could lead to a full-time position within the business on successful completion of apprenticeship and further promotion as experience is gained. In time it could lead to a management position.Skills Required
