Job Description

We are looking for a fun and bubbly team member to join a family run hotel and learn how a hotel truly works, both inside and out.

Responsibilities

As a front of house apprentice, we will take you through the areas that make the hotel tick. You will learn how rooms are serviced, how to check guests in and out, how to make reservations, how to take and work with event bookings, how to order and serve food and beverages.

As a member of a family run hotel, you’ll work with a tight-knit team, in fast paced and busy environment. We will teach you how to work well both in your team, and with other teams of the hotel. You will learn how to communicate between guest and team member to ensure the guest has the best stay possible.

Wage will be National Minimum Wage for your age:

  • 16-17 years old - £4.62 an hour
  • 18-20 years old - £6.56 an hour
  • 21-22 years old - £8.36 an hour
  • 23+ years old - £8.91 an hour

Future Prospects

If we love your style and service, we won’t want you to leave. There will be an opportunity for a full-time contract and further career development into a supervisory or management position.

Reality Check

There could be the opportunity to work between our two hotels. Working in a hotel can be full of pressures. You will need to learn how to smile, even when dealing with a stressful situation. Shift work isn’t easy – be prepared for challenging hours.

Skills Required

We would love to see you have basic computer skills and good communication skills. All other skills can be developed during your placement.

Qualities Required

We’d love someone who pays attention to detail, who is bubbly but also someone who takes their work seriously. You must be a fun, but sensible team player and be respectful of your team.
