Job Description

We're looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join a busy Marine Services company as a Level 3 Marine Engineer Apprentice.

Responsibilities

We're looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join a busy Marine Services company as a Level 3 Marine Engineer Apprentice.

In this role you can expect to:

  • Service and maintain outboard engines
  • Check and install new engines
  • Outfit new watercrafts with systems
  • Prepare boats for customers
  • Fit electronics and navigation equipment
  • Occasionally get involved with offshore work (diving boats at sea)
  • Deliver watercrafts
  • Attend callouts and breakdowns

Future Prospects

  • A full time role may be offered on completion of the apprenticeship

Qualities Required

  • This role is intended to be the start of a career in marine engineering, so will suit somebody looking for a long term role in the marine industry
  • Candidates will need to be able to follow instructions and be a trustworthy person

Qualifications Required

  • Maths and English GCSE Grade C/4, or equivalent Functional Skills
  • A previous qualification in Plumbing (At either Level 2 or Level 1)

Training Provided

Training will be delivered by Paragon Skills to support the successful applicant through their apprenticeship towards a Level 3 Marine Engineering Qualification.

Qualifications;

  • Level 2 Diploma in Marine Engineering (Foundation)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Marine Engineering (Advanced)
