We have a fantastic opportunity for an apprentice to begin within the accounts department of a well-established, multidisciplinary legal firm that provides high quality legal services to businesses and private clients across a wide range of areas.

Responsibilities

We have a fantastic opportunity for an apprentice to begin within the accounts department of a well-established, multidisciplinary legal firm that provides high quality legal services to businesses and private clients across a wide range of areas.

The right candidate will work within the existing finance team, assisting with a wide range of tasks including dealing with:

  • Bank entries and ledgers
  • Monitor & record client account movement
  • Adding invoices to cashflow spreadsheet
  • Responding to account queries by email
  • Payment of invoices
  • Monitoring of cashflow
  • Filing of requisitions, bills and invoices
  • Money transfer requests to Land Registry
  • Set up and send payment requests
  • Card payment by phone, or face to face
  • Assisting with payroll
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • The assisting of external auditors

Future Prospects

  • There may be a chance for a full role offered at the end of the apprenticeship

Reality Check

Skills Required

  • Competent with Microsoft Office
  • Competent with Excel – or a willingness to learn to use the system

Qualities Required

  • Have a professional attitude at all times
  • Be motivated and committed
  • Have a genuine interest in accountancy and a desire to progress, looking for a career in a financial setting
  • Have an excellent work ethic (punctual, polite, attention to detail)
  • Have a good telephone manner
  • Have a willingness to learn and to be willing to learn new skills and carry out a wide variety of roles
  • The candidates manner and how they come across at interview is important

Qualifications Required

  • 5 GCSEs including maths and English at Grade C/4 and above

Training Provided

Training will be delivered by SWARM, to work towards a Level 3 Accountancy Qualification.
