Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team involved in Shop-Fitting and the maintenance of internal structures, supporting the hard facilities. The Company works with one of the UKs leading supermarkets, travelling to install and maintain shop fittings. The work will be varied, will involve different hours of work with some overnight stays.

Responsibilities

 This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team involved in Shop-Fitting and maintenance of the internal structures within the store, and so manging and maintaining the hard facilities. The Company works with one of the UKs leading supermarkets, travelling to install and then assist with the maintenance of shop fittings. The work will be varied, will involve different hours of work with some overnight stays.

The apprentice will be involved with:

  • Hanging doors
  • Fitting bumper protection to walls
  • Price stripping
  • Putting together canteen furniture
  • Erecting instore signage
  • Checkout screening
  • Supporting Hard Facilities management functions in terms of maintenance tasks
  • Carrying out repairs
  • Inspections and assessing the correct functionality of installed equipment over time
  • Observing all Health & Safety procedures in terms of work and customer safety
  • Identifying and then seeking to minimise hazards
  • Using power tools
  • Using hand tools
  • Occasional working at height

Future Prospects

A full time role may be offered on completion of the apprenticeship.

Reality Check

As this role is expected to have 48 hours per week, under 18's are not eligible to apply for this role due to Working Time Directive Legislation, as under 18's aren't allowed to work more than 40 hours per week.

Qualifications Required

GSCE maths and English Grade D / Grade 3, or equivalent functional skills.

Training Provided

Training will be delivered by Straight A Training, and the successful applicant will work towards a Level 2 Facilities Services Operative Apprenticeship.
