We have a great opportunity for someone with a passion for flowers and floristry to join a busy growing team in a town centre shop as a trainee Florist. This is an excellent opportunity for a smart, ambitious and self-motivated individual to join a friendly environment.

Responsibilities

We have a great opportunity for someone with a passion for flowers and floristry to join a busy growing team in a town centre shop as a trainee Florist.

The successful candidate will work towards their Level 2 in Floristry and will be involved with:

  • Serving Customers and delivering excellent Customer care
  • Assisting with floral tributes and wreaths
  • Assisting with Floral bouquets for weddings
  •  Assisting with general bouquet and floral presentation preparation
  • Dealing with face to face and telephone enquiries

The apprentice will learn all required skills and best practice including:

  • Botanical names
  • Care of cut stock
  • Seasonal availability
  • Pest recognition and control
  • Principles of safe transportation
  • Pricing structures
  • Design and structure techniques
  • Wiring techniques
  • Attaching techniques such as binding, tying and knotting
  • Manipulation techniques such as bow making, plaiting and weaving.

Future Prospects

  • A full time role may be offered on completion of the apprenticeship

Skills Required

  • No previous experience is necessary, but the right candidate will have a real passion for the subject and the desire to learn and progress
  • Good Customer service skills
  • Good level of numeracy

Qualities Required

  • Have the ability to work as part of a team
  • Be able to work under pressure at times
  • Be willing to be on their feet all day
  • Be able to work in cooler conditions
  • Have a sense of humour
  • Good attention to detail

Qualifications Required

  • Minimum GCSE D/3 in English and maths, or equivalent qualification

Training Provided

  • Training will be delivered by Keats Training to the successful applicant to work towards a Level 2 Floristry Qualification
