Job Description

We have a rare opportunity to place an apprentice in a globally recognised engineering firm. You will work across a nine-acre site alongside a team of engineers reasonable for the many aspects of the day to day running of the marina and hire fleet while completing a Level 2 Marina and Boatyard Operative Apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

Marinas and boatyards support the yachting and boating sectors, which are key areas of the leisure marine industry both nationally and internationally. Marinas include coastal or inland, river and waterway docks, or basins with moorings and services for vessels. Boatyards are waterside locations where vessels are built, maintained, docked, or stored. The revenues from marinas, moorings and associated activities amount to in excess of £222 million a year. 

Ideally this would suit someone with an interest in being around the water working on and in boats and river craft.

You will work across a nine-acre site alongside a team of engineers reasonable for the many aspects of the day to day running of the marina and hire fleet including: 

  • Customer service
  • Inspecting and valeting the fleet
  • Fuel delivery
  • Customer demos

This is a rural role and the apprentice will need make sure they can get to the business. The role can include working outdoors in all weathers.

Qualifications Required

The ideal candidate will have GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths, Science and Technology at grade 4/C.
