Job Description

LBCA Chartered Accountants are looking to recruit a full time Accounts Assistant Apprentice for our busy accountancy practice based in Harpenden. One day a week will be given for college AAT training.

Responsibilities

Duties will include:

  • Xero accounting (learning as you progress)
  • Basic bookkeeping
  • VAT returns
  • Contractor accounting
  • Assist in running payroll
  • Answering the phones
  • Administration support
  • Support incorporating companies

Future Prospects

  • A permanent opportunity would be available for a successful apprentice
  • There is the opportunity to progress onto AAT level 4

Reality Check

  • During your apprenticeship you will be required to complete a workplace portfolio, participate in the classroom training and complete any employer training, all of which will count towards your 20% off the job training
  • We will assess your prior learning using your CV, an In-Depth interview and the completion of a skill scan and will adjust the apprenticeship accordingly. This will ensure you are learning new knowledge, skills and behaviours

Skills Required

  • A genuine interest in the Accounting industry
  • Knowledge or experience of Accounting industry would be advantageous but not essential

Qualifications Required

  • The ideal candidate will have GCSE grades A* -C / 9-4 (or equivalent) in ICT & English, 9-5 / A*-C grades (or equivalent) in maths
