Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
Initially you will act as a Groundsperson take ownership of maintaining a safe, clean working environment on the ground below the tree works taking place.
You will then progress to working in the same team covering all aspects of arb work including;
- felling
- pruning
- crown lifting
- reduction
- thinning
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will spend 2 years studying the Arborist level 2 qualification on a day release basis at Writtle University College
We provide all PPE and equipment, as well as training and memberships. We will also pay for all necessary tickets as well as your PTS (personal track safety)
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
This really could be your first step towards a long and successful career within the Arb industry at Ground Control. We want more than anything to see our apprentices move up in their career to team leader and senior management roles in the future.
The we have full time Arborists, Team Leaders, Site Managers anfd Contract Managers within the Rail team.
Reality Check
As this role based across the region you will also need to hold a full driving licence to allow you to travel between sites.Skills Required
