Job Description

The Welder/Fabricators will undertake training in reading of drawings and perform welding of various materials to exacting standards. To progress through the company as experience is gained, ancillary equipment operating where full training is given. To be able to work within a team orientated set up.


Duties will include:

  • The welder fabricator will report to the works manager for duties to be assigned
  • The work will be explained and how to conduct the process
  • Time will be set aside for all training needs, and access to all engineering knowledge at our disposal
  • They will also be working to company quality standards
  • Typically they will be assigned to an experienced welder in the short term and as experience is gained then advance to higher level of competent welding requirements whereby they will undertake welding tests of materials for the higher end of products requiring qualified welders to perform the type of welds needed

Future Prospects

All apprentices have to opportunity to gain advancement in their chosen field. As experience is gained and higher quality qualifications are acquired then remuneration will reflect the achievement. Regular pay reviews are undertaken and rewarded on merit.

Reality Check

The environment is fast passed and multitasking and prioritising work is essential. The factor environment requires the strict use or PPE for health and safety

Qualifications Required

A minimum of 3 GCSE’s or equivalent (Grade D/3 or above) will be required, to include maths, English and Science

  • Level 2 General Welder (Arc Processes)
  • Functional Skills in English, maths and ICT at Level 1 if required
