Job Description

The apprentice will be expected to assist in the removal of the existing bathroom and help complete the installation of new furniture, wall and floor tiles. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

The role will involve:

  • Assisting the owner to complete various new installations and refurbishments of bathrooms and cloakrooms in domestic properties
  • To assist in the removal of the existing bathroom
  • Help complete the installation of new furniture, wall and floor tiles

The apprentice will receive training in general carpentry, plumbing and electrics as well as wall and floor tiling.

The apprentice will be expected to be able to discuss a project with a client, answering questions politely and providing a clear explanation against a plan.

They will be expected to speak to suppliers, orders parts and collect them if required.

This is a physical role and the apprentice will be expected to be physically fit and able to carry objects up and down stairs.

The apprentice will be responsible for loading the company van and keeping tools clean and to hand.

The company is now very busy and would like to expand. It requires an apprentice to assist the owner in completing tiling and bathrooms projects. In addition, there is also some kitchen fitting and tiling required. Ideally this apprentice would complete their training and wish to stay as a permanent member of staff.

Future Prospects

The company are keen to keep the apprentice on a permanent basis after qualifying. 

Reality Check

Many of the customers are based on Hayling Island and the surrounding area. So, access to this location is important.  You will need to live locally for pickups or have your own transport.

Qualifications Required

GCSE maths and English grade 2/E or above or equivalent

or L1 Functional Skills.

The training provider is Highbury College based at our specialist construction site at Northarbour Centre.
