Job Description

Jackson Coachworks are looking to recruit an Apprentice to learn all aspects of engineering and making a body. On completion of the Apprenticeship, the candidate will be a fully skilled truck body builder.


Apprentices will train with us by working in every department within the workshop during their Apprenticeship.

Generally that will be done in roughly the following order:

  • Body construction
  • Fitting out a body
  • Mounting bodywork to base chassis’
  • Making body components such as doors
  • Basic vehicle electrics
  • Basic welding and fabrication

Qualifications Required

  • GCSE grade 4/C or above in maths and English (or equivalent)

Training Provided

Metal Fabricator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • Block release to Stephenson College, Coalville
  • Functional skills if necessary
  • On-the-job training
  • Off-the-job training
