Job Description

Our retail department continues to go from strength to strength and we are now in a position to recruit a highly motivated and dedicated apprentice to join the Retail Travel Sales team in our branch in Ipswich. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an apprentice to develop their skills further and make a real difference to our customer base.

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

As the successful candidate you will provide customers with a travel service, tailor-made to their requirements, generating sales of all travel products whilst taking responsibility for the administration and operational support associated with the products whilst working towards a nationally recognised qualification. 

Reporting to the Branch Manager your duties will include:

  • Liaising with customers in branch, and via telephone in regards to queries and booking
  • Meeting branch and individual sales targets
  • Offering the customer a high level of customer care- adhering to service standards
  • Assisting with the design and delivery of marketing campaigns
  • Invoicing, ticketing and processing payments
  • General office administration 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Whilst completing your Travel Consultant Level 3 Standard, you will learn about a range of areas such as the organisation, stakeholders, regulation, business fundamentals, policies and processes, IT, record and document production, quality, adaptability and professionalism.

The apprentice will work towards a knowledge test, project presentation and an interview. With guidance and learning from Blue Sky’s Development Advisor, the apprentice will compile a range of evidence. This includes assignments, professional discussions, presentations and observations to demonstrate skills, knowledge and company behaviours.
