An Apprentice Town Planner position is available in the London Mixed Use Planning Team, with a specific focus on town planning in London and the Home Counties. You would be working alongside all levels of the team which strives to secure planning permissions and land allocations for a range of clients.


The team works for housebuilders, landowners, development companies, schools, universities and other clients from across the property spectrum.

The key responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Provide support to the team, primarily researching planning policies, planning histories and other planning applications
  • Writing up the research into reports to form the basis of advice to clients and the content of planning applications 
  • As the applicant develops, there will be opportunities to attend meetings with clients and local authorities and to prepare and submit minor planning applications

The long term potential is for that individual to become Chartered Town Planner themselves, having developed their skills working within a market leading team. The individual would be client facing over time and therefore communication and interpersonal skills are very important.  An outgoing, sociable and presentable individual is required.  They need to be proactive and confident.

Qualifications Required

  • A Level BCC or
  • BTEC National Diploma MMM or
  • Access to HE qualifications with 9 Distinctions and 36 Merits or
  • Equivalent Level 3 qualifications worth 106 UCAS points or
  • Level 3 Planning Technician Apprenticeship.
  • Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs grades A-C (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above) or equivalent qualifications including maths and English
