Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join our team as an Apprentice Technician. You will be working in a very busy workshop alongside qualified vehicle technicians, working on all makes of vehicles. Feel this could be the role for you? Apply today!

Responsibilities

You will be working in a very busy workshop alongside qualified vehicle technicians, working on all makes of vehicles. Carrying out servicing and vehicle repairs to a high standard. Able to work within a very close team or be able to work on your own initiative. All work will be checked as completed by a qualified member of the team.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • To be able to work as part of a team
  • To be able to work under own initiative
  • To carry out servicing and repairs under instruction
  • To be able to keep workshop and area clean
  • To undertake other work duties as required
  • To be able to inspect and report on work carried out with a detailed report

Future Prospects

  • Full-time position offered after full training and qualification gained

  • We are based in Hathern and you must be able to make your own way to and from our garage
  • You must be able to work under pressure at times and still be able to carry out your duties to the best of your abilities

Skills Required

  • Good general knowledge of vehicle workings
  • Good team player - be able to work hard as part of a team

Qualifications Required

  • GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and maths (or equivalent). (If you do not already meet these criteria, we will ask you to sit initial assessments to indicate which level you are currently working at)

Training Provided

  • Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (light vehicle) level 3
  • Day/Block release to our Stephenson Campus, Coalville (Part of the SMB Group)
  • Functional skills if necessary
  • On-the-job training
  • Off-the-job training
