Job Description

Laureate Community Academy are seeking to appoint a skilled, committed and enthusiastic Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our Nursery team. We are a welcoming, inclusive school community rated ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ features by Ofsted, and have been nationally and internationally recognised for the quality of our teaching assistants.


What will the apprentice be doing?

Examples of taks:

  • Work with individual pupils, small groups, or the whole class, some of whom may have special educational needs and/or disabilities, English as an additional language etc.;
  • Focus on the learning taking place, not task completion;
  • Mark pupils’ work as appropriate, maintaining basic records, and providing good quality verbal and written feedback to pupils which will enable them to understand their successes and the next steps in their learning;
  • Clarify and explain instructions;

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • A workplace which really focuses on your development and wellbeing
  • Study and completion of a level 3 Early Years Educator qualification whilst working in Laureate Community Academy.
  • Training provided by West Suffolk College as 'on the job' training

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

This is a transferable qualification but could lead to a permanent position here or in one of the 30 schools in our multi Academy Trust.
